The Ultimate "What is Good?"

I have identified these 3 options, I will use 'Small Talk' for the workshop tomorrow  and see if it is a viable option

Small Talk

Sparks conversation
 makes friendship
breaks awkward silence
 it opens doors
 unites strangers

Awkward
Difficult to master
Age difference makes it more difficult

Small talk?

Perspective

Makes complaining seem ridiculous
Makes you grateful for what you have
Stops you thinking about yourself
Gives you a positive attitude

Brits like moaning
If everyone was constantly positive it would be annoying

Failing these two semi conceptual ideas I'm going to go for :

Milkshake

It's tasty
Its good for you when made with real fruit
good source of calcium

Its fattening
Too much'll make you sick

Small Talk

Facts

http://www.ou.edu/class/bc2813/ConversationTips/MasteringSmallTalk.htm

"It’s easy to dismiss small talk as idle chit-chat, or superficial or pointless, and claim to only be interested in “real” conversation. But how do you get to the point of having a deeper conversation with someone in the first place? Someone you just met would be weirded out if you just walked up to them and asked, “Why do you think God allows bad things to happen to good people?” Conversation is a ladder, with small talk serving as the first few rungs. You can’t leap-frog up the ladder. That would be like trying to sprint before warming up, or cook a steak without defrosting it, or merge onto a highway without building up speed on the on-ramp, or…well you get the idea."

By mastering small talk you will be able to:

Create rapport through small talk.
Spontaneously start conversations.
Maintain stimulating conversations.
Change topics gracefully.
End conversations tactfully.
Converse with confidence.
