Post Crit Development of Ideas


Before the Crit our idea was to design some cards that look a bit like tarot cards with a fortune teller/ gypsy aesthetic, that show the viewer various ways to get rid of hiccups. Our market for this product was Victorians, however this doesn't really have any use because hiccups aren't that big of a problem and the product wouldn't have many applications in todays world apart from Museum gift shops. 
With this in mind we had a group idea session and thought that we could apply the idea to drink awareness- as when you drink to much you get hiccups- which we could portray as a curse and promote knowing your limits in a novelty way. We also talked about designing a vintage campaign for coca cola which gives step by step instructions on getting rid of hiccups. In the end we thought the best way to go would be some promotional material  for 'Pepto Bismal' which is a medicine that balances stomach acid levels and can be used in extreme cases of Hiccups. We are now going to design 5 posters which show various, ridiculous ways of getting rid of hiccups that have a 'or you could just buy pepto bismal' message.
