I took on this brief to design the branding for a local recording business.
The client specifically wanted a very simple identity with nothing more than a bit of type and potentially a logo.
Testing and Development
These were the initial illustrations and basic ideas that I produced
I was happy with the impact that this simple icon and 'Remote' written in Apercu had. The logo is representative of a microphone and also a wheel (when turned 180º) which is the unique selling point of the business- that it is mobile and can record you in your own practice space.
I used bright red and green colours to reference the on/off lights that are used, traditionally when recording.
After offering some variations to the client, he wanted the colours to be dulled down a little as he felt they were too garish, these are the final design boards for the project:
